Our Pressure Treatment

The Glenavon pressure treatment uses the Osmose Naturewood preservative system. Have a look at our new animation below to see exactly how our treatment process works.

The main ingredient in this treatment is copper which has long been known as an effective wood preservative. The copper is coupled with an organic co-biocide such as a quaternary compound (quat) for enhanced performance against copper tolerant fungi and insects.

Osmose Naturewood products will initially have an even green appearance; this will weather to a natural honey brown colour before finally fading to a driftwood grey after long term exposure to the sun. Osmose Naturewood products can be painted or stained to match any outdoor colour scheme. We recommend you always follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

The preservatives in Osmose Naturewood products are frequently used in products that are common in our everyday lives. Copper, a naturally occurring mineral is an effective and widely used fungicide and quaternary compounds are commonly used in household disinfectants and cleaners.
